YORKTOWN HEIGHTS 2020 LOCAL BUSINESS PEOPLE OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED!

  • 05/17/21
On a mid-February Wednesday as I browsed through social media …all of a sudden I noticed I was tagged in this post that said…

“Alignable has announced Yorktown Heights’s 2020-2021 Local Business People Of The Year!

After sorting through more than 86,000 votes and testimonials from our members, we’re delighted to unveil the local winner of the most popular (and competitive) contest we’ve ever had. All nominees were celebrated for going above and beyond to help peers and their communities power through the Covid Era.

And… Dum roll please… In Yorktown Heights the official 2021 Local Business Person of the year is…

Local Business Person Of The Year 2020-2021

Sami Vecchiolla, Residential Real Estate Agent

”Please offer this business leader your hearty congratulations and share this news throughout your community and beyond. And thanks again for participating in this exciting contest.”

I was so shocked, and honored! I couldn’t believe I was nominated for such a prestigious award and won! It was very exciting for me! 2020 was a hard year for a lot of local business professionals, myself included. It provided me with an opportunity to decide how I was going to move forward. My passion for helping others has been a guiding light for me when times are hard. There is an old Zig Ziglar quote that says, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.” and that sentiment is what got me through 2020 when the real estate industry overnight became Non-Essential! Fast Forward a few months and I was finally able to get back in front of clients helping individuals navigate buying and selling homes in this new Covid-19 world!

Luckily at the beginning of the pandemic, I had such an amazing community of local business owners to mastermind with and get some great ideas on how to “Pivot” and pave a new path toward success. The opportunity to take a step back and give to others especially fellow business owners was what really kept me sane! I started with weekly “Business Breakthrough” sessions where members of my local networking organization can come and talk about what their current needs were and how to troubleshoot through them. It was such a rewarding time for me!

This award means so much to me, I strive to leave the world a better place than I found it and to be recognized… I am so grateful.
